Kumbalangi is an island surrounded by backwaters of Vembanadu Kayal. Kumbalangi is surrounded by palluruthy and Edakochi from the north and north-east respectively. In the east there is Aroor and Ezhupunna lies in the south.
People

Once successfull business is now on the verge of extinction due to the involvement of the government and of the law which restricted the transport of the husks. The mostly hindus, christians are the major populations. Chinese nets( Cheenavala) can be seen in the waters.The people here are good natured and they live in good harmony, love and peace.
The traditional art forms like Chavittunadakam, Parisamuttukali, Vattakali, Thiruvathirakali are still followed and preserved with interest in Kumbalangi.

St George Churh
Lies in the right side it is perhaps the oldest church. It has been reconstructed retaining the original form. There is an upper primary school and a parish hall associated with it. Once there was a famous Volley Ball Court in front of the Church. Almost all the popular players of that time often played there.
